What is the Average Cost of a Cistern? Average Cistern Price
The average cost of a cistern depends on the material and size that the intended buyer desires. For example, a small (200 gal) galvanized steel cistern will cost $225 while a large (2000 gal) cistern made from the same material will cost on average $950. This means that the average cost for a small cistern is $1.12/gal and the average cost for a larger sized cistern is $0.47/gal. You can also expect to see a variation in price depending upon what material is used to construct the cistern, although generally stainless steel is the material of choice.
