When Was Abortion Legalized?

Abotion was legalized in 1973 when the United States Supreme Court ruled in the famous Roe v. Wade case that during the first trimester, a woman has the right to decide what happens to her body. The Court further ruled that the state could intervene in the second trimester and could ban abortions in the third trimesters. Before 1973, abortion was legal in several areas of the country but it is the Court’s ruling that made abortion uniformly legal through out America except during the third trimester.
