What is the Average Cost of living in Rhode Island per month/year?

Depending on location, the average cost of living in Rhode Island is much steeper than the national average (transportation being the only factor very slightly lower). Food prices are marginally higher while the cost of electricity, gas, telephone, clothing, entertainment, repairs and health all ranging between 15% to 25% higher. Housing is expensive with the median listing price for houses starting at $347,000 on the low end and going up to $810,000 at the high end.
