What is the Average Cost of living in Iowa per month/year?

Iowa is a fairly cheap state compared with its neighbors. The median home price is $130,300 and as far as land taxes go, home owners pay less than half while farmers and industry pay much more. Large areas of farmland give Iowa a rural flavor. For a family with two children, their overall cost in one month (including rental costs, food, health care, transportation and income taxes) is about $2,870 ($34,440 per annum).
