The Kroger Co. (NYSE:KR) is a chain of American retail supermarkets and is one of the largest grocery store chains in U.S. It was founded by Bernard Kroger in 1883 in Ohio. Kroger operates more than 3,600 stores all over United States and is headquartered in downtown, Cincinnati. The average cost to set up a Kroger franchise is around $406,500. The parent company charges 8% royalty fee on annual revenues. The term of agreement is for 10 years and an additional advertising fee of 5% is charged as well on net annual sales.
