What is the Average Cost of Lean Hogs per Pound/Ton? Average Lean Hogs Price

Lean hogs are a type of grey pork that is traded in mercantile exchanges. This type of hog is used in the majority of pork meat in the United States. After six months, when the pig is ready at roughly 250 pounds, the hog will go to market. The average price of lean hogs tends to be dictated by the size of the hog and the season when it is sold. Hog prices are highest between May and July. The average cost is around $.60 a pound.
