What is the Average Cost of Bastnäsite per gram/pound? Average Bastnäsite Price
Bastnasite - the name comes from the mine area of Bastnas in Sweden, where it was first discovered. In 1838, the Swedish chemist Wilhelm Hisinger described the mineral for the first time. It is a rare mineral that can be found in the earth’s crust. The appearance of Bastnasite crystals is translucent to opaque and can be found in tabular shapes or granular forms. The mineral is extracted from Hungary, Greece and Balkan region and it can be found in shades of gray, yellow, brown or pink. The average price is between $2.75 and $14, depending on the size of the mineral.
