What is a Fox Nut? Uses and Health Benefits of Fox Nut

Fox Nut is the exclusive species of the genus Euryale. It is a flowering plant classified in the water lily family. It is an annual plant native to Eastern Asia. It grows in water, producing attractive purple flowers. Leaves are large and round often more than 3 feet. Starchy white seeds are edible. The plant grows at its best in hot dry summers and cold winters. Seeds are eaten either raw cooked. In India, they are roasted and fried and eaten as popcorn. In China the seeds are used as Traditional Chinese Medicine. They are cooked as a part of soup which is believed to strengthen male potency and retard aging
