What is a Chinese Gold Farmer in WoW? World of Warcraft Terms

Whether you are a World of Warcraft player or not, you have most likely heard the term “Chinese gold farmer” before. This basically refers to a Chinese person who plays World of Warcraft to gather together as much in-game currency (gold) as possible. This person then sells it online Chinese Gold Farmers in actionChinese Gold Farmers in actionto other players for real money. This may be done professionally in some cases, or as a part-time job. Gold farmers are not all Chinese, nor are they all Asian. Many players from all races and backgrounds farm gold and sell it online. Gold farmers are notorious for operating scams to steal player accounts and strip them of their valuable items and gold. They are also known for using glitches and bots (programs that play the game automatically) to give themselves an unfair advantage in gathering funds or to advertise their website. Blizzard, the maker of WoW, frowns upon this practice and often bans these players whenever possible.
