What is Marzipan? Ingredients and Uses

Marzipan is a thick almond paste that is very popular in creating desserts and confections. Marzipan is produced by combining finely ground, unroasted almonds with a soft caramel syrup. This serves to give the marzipan it’s smooth, pliable texture and consistency and may be complemented by other additives such Marzipan decorated to look like fruitMarzipan decorated to look like fruitas almond extract to intensify flavor. Marzipan is often eaten plain, shaped and decorated so as to resemble pieces of fruit, or covered in chocolate. Marzipan may also be rolled into layers in place inside of cakes and pastires.
