What is Gorgonzola cheese?
Gorgonzola is a type of Italian blue cheese, distinctively green and white in color. Its texture is quite soft and crumbly like most other forms of blue cheese. It has a very buttery flavor is also salty and biting similar to other kinds of blue cheese. If you like blue cheese you will most likely enjoy Gorgonzola. It can be crumbled over salads or used in dressing. It is also popular when served with oysters or plain with crackers. If you’ve never had Gorgonzola cheese I would recommend eating small chunks of it with pears and a glass of red Merlot wine. Gorgonzola is quite popular and can be found in many grocery stores such as Whole Foods and Shaw’s.
