What is Chickweed Used For? Health Benefits and Nutrition Information

Chickweed is a low growing, soft plant that grows as a common weed. It can be cooked or used raw in salads. The whole plant is used to treat cuts and relieve itching caused by eczema and psoriasis. Chickweed is also good for rheumatism. It is rich in vitamin C and is a good demulcent. It also contains vitamin A, bio-flavanoids, omega-6 fatty acids and also calcium, magnesium, potassium, copper, iron, manganese, silicon and zinc. Indication include varicose ulcers, boils, contact dermatitis, minor skin wounds, nappy rash, bronchitis and other cold symptoms
