What is Cempedak? Uses and Health Benefits of Cempedak

Cempedak is specie of tree and fruit in the family Moraceae. It is native to Southeast Asia. It is an actively growing medium sized tree which bears fruits once or twice a year. The sausage shaped fruit range from 15 to 22 cms in length and 10 to 17 cms in thickness. The taste of the fruit is similar to that of Jackfruit and Breadfruit with a touch of Durian. The pulp is sweet and juicy. Fritters made from the fruit are sold in Malaysia. It is beneficial for the eye as it has quite a huge amount of vitamin A. Heteriflavon C obtained from Camped bark can totally eliminate the cause of malarial parasite
