The average price of stellite alloy is $40 per pound. Stellite alloy is a range of cobalt chromium alloys, designed for wear resistance. It may also contain tungsten or molybdenum and a small but important amount of carbon. There are a large number of stellite alloys composed of various amounts of cobalt, nickel, iron, aluminum, boron, carbon, chromium, manganese, molybdenum, phosphorus, sulfur, silicon and titanium in various proportions. Stellite is a completely non-magnetic and corrosion-resistant cobalt alloy. The alloys most suited for cutting tools is Stellite 100. Stellite alloys display astounding hardness and toughness and also tend to have high melting points due to the cobalt and chromium content.
