What Is the Average Cost of Alnico? Average Alnico Price

Alnico magnets cost about $25 per pound. Alnico refers to iron alloys that, in addition to iron, are mainly composed of aluminum, nickel, and cobalt, thus getting the name al-Ni-co. Of the more commonly available magnets, only rare-earth magnets such as neodymium and samarium-cobalt are stronger. Alnico is produced by casting or sintering processes. Alnico alloys have some of the highest Curie points of any magnetic material, around 800*C. Alnico magnets have some of the highest curie points of any magnetic material.
