The Best Pranks in World of Warcraft: WoW Flares and Teleporters

World of Warcraft has a massive and complex world that offers opportunities of all kinds to anyone looking to play a good practical joke on their fellow players. The first and easiest to pull of prank involves the teleporters in the city of Dalaran. Simply get together some of your friends and mount up on your largest ground mounts; the best candidates are Taurens or Draenei on Kodos or Elekks. Before mounting, use Elixirs of Giant Growth or some other means to enlarge your characters. Now pile onto the most used teleporter of the opposing faction (Stormwind or Orgrimmar are usually the best choices), and wait for the storm of yelling and rude gestures! You can even pull this prank on your own side if you like. Last time I pulled this prank off, a GM actually appeared and warned us to leave the area. When we did not respond they started forcibly logging people off before our eyes! Don’t worry, we weren’t banned.

A time-consuming but even more hilarious prank involves smoke flares. You will need an engineer or two with the plans to make at least one color of smoke flare, as well as the materials to make an enormous quantity of flares. The mats needed are netherweave cloth, vendor dye, motes of earth, and motes of fire. These are usually not terribly expensive, especially if people pitch in a few gold. Now set to work making massive quantities of smoke flares. Distribute them among your crew of troublemakers and choose a location to wreak havoc. Main street Dalaran can be particularly funny since Dalaran is already notoriously laggy and the hundreds of flares definitely doesn’t help. Either move in a glorious parade around the city, or just stay in one place and see how smoky you can make it!
