Is Peanut Butter Healthy?

Peanut butter is a very healthy food and raw peanut butter is healthier than the refined one as it retains many of the nutrients. Also, processed peanut butter contains fatty acids. That is why obese people are advised against taking peanut butter since majority of the calories come from the fats. Peanut butter helps to control hunger. The total calorie content in 100 grams of peanut butter is 589 cal, placing it among the most caloric foods. However, most of the fats are monounsaturated and largely help to improve the cholesterol profile. It also reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease by a great margin compared to the average American diet. Peanut butter also contains high quantities of dietary fiber that helps to regulate blood cholesterol and blood sugar levels.
