Is Leather Edible?

While leather may technically be edible, it is really not good for your health. However, it depends on how it is treated and the type of chemicals used in the process. If it has been dyed or has any modern chemical, then there could be a serious health risk. If you really intend to eat leather, you need to boil it several times for a long period to really soften it and extract any nutritional value from it. The leather dyes are less than beneficial to the human digestive system. So, even if leather is edible, you will have to really be desperate to try it!
