Is HGH a Steroid? Human Growth Hormone and Steroids

There has been a lot of buzz recently about the human growth hormone (HGH), but is HGH a steroid? Technically speaking, HGH is not actually a steroid. Instead it is a naturally produced bodily hormone that has effects that are quite comparable to the effects of steroids. HGH causes the body to greatly increase its production of muscle tissue, use up its fat reserves, and cause heightened levels of energy, much like a steroid. However, HGH has its own set of side effects as well, including high blood pressure, carpal tunnel syndrome, and pancreatitis.
