Is Corn Syrup Hypertonic Or Hypotonic?

Corn syrup causes a hypertonic effect on our bodies. That is how it does it: it causes our cells to shrink and narrow, instead of widening. This shrinking, especially in the vessels’ cells, causes our blood pressure rise and produces the hypertonic effect. This hypertonic effect of the corn syrup is also promoted by the high amount of solute vs. to water, held in it. Solute is hypertonic, while pure water is hypotonic.
