How to do Diablo 2 Single Player Item Transfers between Characters
Diablo 2 is a great game that holds many hours of entertainment, but anyone who has played it in single player has probably been frustrated by its lack of item transferring. Luckily, there is a very simple way of doing this that does not involve any software, mods, or additional computers.
Go to the Start Menu -- Settings -- Control Panel -- User Accounts. Click on “Change the way users log on or off. Turn on the option called Use Fast User Switching. Make an additional user account if you do not already have more than one. Run Diablo 2 and host a TCP/IP game using one of the characters involved in the transfer. Make sure to write down the IP number that it provides, including the periods. Drop any items that you wish to transfer on the ground. It is recommended that you do this in a Normal game in the Act 1 town to avoid any complications. Do not quit the game yet on this character or the items will be lost.
Now press Alt + Tab to minimize out of Diablo 2. Click Start Log Off Switch Users. Log on to the other user and open Diablo 2. Join the TCP/IP game you created by using the IP number you wrote down earlier. Join the game with the desired character and you will see your other character in the game, along with the items that you dropped. To perform transfers between multiple characters, simply rejoin the game with your other characters.
A similar method works for transferring items on Battle.net. Find out how here.
