In the US, the three highest compensated positions at all levels of experience are portfolio manager (equities), followed by investment bankers and sell-side research analysts, in that order. A portfolio manager directs the management of a portfolio of funds of the client. They are responsible for managing and evaluating complex investment portfolios in a banking environment. They analyze daily investment activities to ensure the process of portfolios and usually rely on extensive experience to plan and accomplish their tasks. Portfolio managers are expected to possess excellent inter-personal and analytical skills. The average annual salary of a portfolio manger is $100,000.
