How Much Does An Economics Major Make Per Year? Average Economics Major Salary

According to the US Bureau of Labor and Statistics, the average annual salary of an economics major is $96,000. However, it says those working for the federal government earn above $100,000. The income varies depending on several factors, primary among them being job title, location, education, and company that employ them. The different job titles of an economics major include economist, statistician, investment banker, financial advisor, regional sales manager, financial analyst, securities trader and bank branch manager. Those with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics generally earned more, and those holding a Master’s or Doctorate earned a much higher pay. San Francisco pays the highest salary to Economics Majors in the US, followed by New York, Seattle and Los Angeles. An Economist may specialize in specific area and conduct research to help solve economic problems.
