Event Planner Job Description

You may have heard the title event planner thrown around a lot recently, but what exactly do they do? The official event planner job description covers duties generally pertaining to organizing and carrying out important social gatherings, including fundraisers, parties, weddings, and art exhibitions. Event planners must be highly versatile in their knowledge of such events, as they may be called upon to put on anything from a wide variety of activities. Event planners must organize key personnel such as catering services, musicians, decorators, and others to come together perfectly for the event. Event planners are also in charge of budgeting for events as well as the timing for different speeches, toasts, cake cuttings and other happenings during such events. The educational requirements for an event planner vary according to who is hiring you. Generally a bachelor’s degree in social engineering or a related subject is all that is needed.
