Cut the Rope App for iPad Review
There is an absolute flood of iPad games currently on the market, many of which are mediocre and derivative at best. In the age of amazing 3D graphics, what is a buyer’s motivation for picking up a 2D game? To put it simply, they can be really fun, and Cut the Rope really stands out from the crowd in terms of pure addictive joy. A combination of neat physics and simple yet deep gameplay go hand in hand with a cute art style designed to suck you in from the start. From the moment you first set eyes on Om Nom, our lovably hungry star, you will be impressed by the visual punch that 2D graphics still have to offer. With that said, Cut the Rope does not have support for the new retina display, which is a little disappointing. But this small flaw is easily forgivable, especially in light of the host of interesting levels already available and the promise of many more to come. To put it simply, there is a reason Cut the Rope is currently the number one paid app on the market: It’s a great game. Overall Score: 9.5 out of 10
